Verizon laid off a few hundred more people last week, on top of the thirteen thousand from last fall. The company says it's about efficiency and saving billions. The stock has drifted down from 48 to around 45 recently, nothing dramatic, just a slow leak. The dividend is the only reason I'm still holding, pays about 5.5%. But you have to wonder at some point how many people actually need to work there before the service starts falling apart.
