That’s the thought that keeps crossing my mind more and more lately. I have a substantial amount of XOM shares in my portfolio which I bought in early 2020. I was planning to hold on to it for a while, given that at the time I was under the impression that the stock was in a nice and steady rising trend.
However, the stories about the world moving away from O&G and towards renewables are louder and louder. I’m not naive to think that the demand for O&G will drop drastically in the next couple of years or so, but there is certainly a possibility that this perception in the public about O&G companies can cause the stock to drop even before any of the realistic factors kick in.
Does anyone else think it is time to dump the stock or should I hold on for some more time and try to taker advantage of the positive trend in the price?
