I never know what to think when a company has layoffs. On one hand, it's a good thing for shareholders because costs are being cut. On the other hand, that also means that the leadership didn't think ahead and put the company in a position where layoffs are the only course of action to right the ship - which in my opinion is a reflection of weak leadership. I'm not sure how to categorize what recently happened at Micron and how to act on it.
