Applied Materials hit a peak in June, then dropped sharply before bouncing back. The CEO sold shares near the top and insiders have been unloading for months. The business itself is doing great - record revenue, strong margins, raised guidance. But China keeps tightening export controls and they get about a quarter of their revenue from there. One policy change could hurt. Every time I think about buying more, I remember how fast it dropped in June.
